I spent some time looking at some of the most recent studies on financial advice for women, specifically what is being said about financial literacy this week and I was thrilled with the information.

They showed that far more women understand what they need to do to for a wealthy management system. Awesome!

Unfortunately it seems that women understand it, but many are not taking action to implement it.

The fall is a time where lots of expenses come in to families. Between the Terry Fox run, sports seasons starting up, and beginning to plan for Christmas this is the time of year that a quick reset on how you manage your money can make a big impact on how you end your year financially.

What is A Reset To Manage Your Money?

I liken a financial reset to a quick financial wellness check-in. You go to your doctor or dentist in the fall for a check up or cleaning, your financial status deserves the same attention. The reason these are so important is that financial stress and debt are the greatest factors for health care issues, physical and mental. Let’s take some of that stress off your shoulders with a reset so that you can assess and take action to course correct whatever you need.

How To Approach A Reset To Manage Your Money With Fall Elegance:

1. I take out the one year goals I set in January.

Do they still make sense? How many can I check off and revel in the accomplishments. (It is so important to recognize how far you have come and not just look at how much you have left to do!)

2. Next I look at my spending. How am I doing? Where can I improve or make some savings adjustments?

Then get specific and realistic about what you can do in the next 90 days.

Give yourself permission to be ruthless with your money priorities and your life/work priorities.

3. The next thing to do is share your money priorities with your partner/husband or someone close to you so that you’ve stated them on paper and out loud.

Talking about this money reset will give you power and traction.
Find a tribe of like minded women who also value empowering themselves to financial empowerment – maybe it’s time to get a “Pay Off Your Debt Fast” group together.

All of these approaches to resetting how you manage your money can transform your life, health and relationships.
