The Top Questions Women Need To Ask To Change Their Money Mindset For Success – Do You Know Them?

Women often have a funny attitude about money.  Many are quick to say, “money doesn’t matter” but spend their lives frustrated and stuck because what they want in life – like deeper relationships and more time doing what they love comes from financial stability.

Your money mindset is created by your thoughts about money and the importance that you give it. Which is why I’m asking women to begin to consider to take a stand for the importance of money.

Why not admit that money is important, it is basic to living a good life, and it’s a wonderful tool to make a difference in the world!  Consider this if how you thought about money impacted your daughter or son’s ability to rise to the next top level engineer for NASA would you consider thinking about it differently?  If money led to a deep relationship with your husband would you give it more time and energy?  It money meant that you could feed a tribe of indigenous Canadian people would you take different actions?

When we stop personalizing the negatives about money that we’ve been conditioned to believe and learn how to use money as a tool for influence and greatness, the life you dream of can become reality.

Money reacts to your attitudes about it, therefore think well of it and admire what it can do, and you are much more likely to enjoy more of it. See it as a tyrant, and it will be so. Continually remind yourself of the relationship between money and thought. Think of and expect lavish abundance for the day ahead when you wake up in the morning. You may be surprised at what happens.

Don’t believe me?  Allow me to introduce you to a fellow named Albert Einstein. He shook up the scientific world by proving that ‘substance’ (or energy – the unformed) is convertible with matter (the formed, which includes money).

Einstein showed that the physical and non-physical worlds are convertible and interchangeable. Prosperity thinking acknowledges the connection between the invisible ‘substance’ or energy that makes up the universe and your thoughts. By connecting the two, you have greater control over the creation of matter.

So what does this mean in plain english? What you think and say about money is actually affecting your financial health and status.  Women will often put love above money – but in reality that’s like choosing which sense is more important – your eyes or mouth.

What have you been saying about money today?

Consider for a moment your day-in-day-out thoughts about money.  Some are passed down from your parents, “money doesn’t grow on trees”, “money is evil”, “The rich are bad people” for example.

Psychologically the subconscious mind converts these passed down beliefs into daily thoughts and actions that you are taking without realizing. Likely, the thoughts you’ve had around money are affecting what your current financial picture looks like.  In my 350 case studies with women in corporate and entrepreneurs these were some of the statements made about money:

1) “I can’t afford to invest”,

2) “I can start a business without knowing how to manage money”,

3) “It doesn’t matter if I don’t make as much as my male counter-parts I have a good job and I’m grateful”

4) “I can’t invest the time or money in myself, it needs to go to my kids and our expenses”

5) “I’m choosing love over money – what woman wouldn’t.  I don’t need to be a millionaire I just want to be happy.  I can be happy without the expensive vacations.”

In all of these statements there is an either or situation happening – choosing one thing over another and this type of mindset and thinking is the very reason women are not reaching their economic potential and feeling stuck, overwhelmed and searching for an escape.

Try this to see what your MONEY MINDSET is attracting:

  • Take 2 minutes, set a timer, think about money.
  • Write down all the thoughts that pop up in relationship to money and do not censor it.
  • Look at each sentence you made on paper and question it – “Is it true?”
  • Anything that you cannot 100% say is true, means you’ve been giving money that energy.

Because your experience is shaped by your daily thoughts and beliefs, decide what you want to think about money and start focusing on those thoughts instead.  Money is simply a tool.  Money isn’t good or evil it is a tool that when women understand how to use it and leverage their skills with it will fundamentally change  the world.

When you have a negative thought about money, simply think to this exercise and then reframe it. Doing this one self-assessment of your money mindset can impact what you believe you financial status can be.  Interestingly, most women’s thoughts want to go from just getting by to needing to be a millionnaire and we don’t have to be so extreme. If you were to take each money mindset and take one small action over the course of a month or even a year, it would significantly change your financial status.  Don’t believe me?  Try it!

Try this to create a positive attitude for money to react with:

  • Give yourself 2 minutes, set a timer, think about a person you love and write their name at the top of the page.
  • Note down all the attitudes, attributes and awesomeness you love that person for.
  • Analyze each sentence you made on the paper.
  • Scratch out the name on the top of the page and instead replace it with the name “MONEY”

Now while I’m not a financial advisor or expert, my mindset programs have changed lives, transformed flat industries and engaged sales and management teams to produce incredible results.  I’m not giving you advice on investing, saving or retirement my main focus for this article is simply to look at your money mindset because your mindset about money is driving your actions daily.  For women this is a huge problem that we can change together.

You can shift anything in your life, money included.  Why not start today. See what you are capable of.  Why not believe and align with what Einstein proved long ago?
