Have you ever woken up in the morning and had the feeling of not being good enough?

Or that you are not good at anything?  Like everyone around you is doing it all better than you are?

I know I have.

Even when we’re praised at work, or home, it’s more often the bad stuff that we believe and hold onto.  Rarely the good.

Here’s the thing.  Women are AMAZING at so much.

… And I am NOT talking about the dishes, the laundry, the cooking and cleaning.. I am talking about all the other bad a** greatness that we rarely give ourselves credit for and need to embrace.

So, pour yourself a(nother)cup of coffee and settle in to revel in just some of the things that women are really good at.

1.  Being Healthy

This may not come as a surprise to hear that women are great at taking care of themselves when it comes to being healthy and eating well.  Although, I would argue that there is always room for more self-care since we also tend to put ourselves last. I know you know what I am talking about.  Also, interesting to note that women have stronger immune systems than men. Who knew?

2. Managing Stress

It may not feel like it in the moment, however, women are more successful at managing stress than our male counterparts.  While women are typically more stressed and experience more anxiety; research is showing we outperform men because we handle stress better. The researched showed that women adapt more proactively.  Cool, right?

3. Responding to Competitive Pressure

This was the conclusion after analyzing 8,200 games from Grand Slam tennis matches. Women choked less in situations that mattered. The study showed that women are better at staying calm under pressure (see #2).  Which would make one think the majority of Fortune 500 chief executives would be women. IF only.. .

4. Stronger Leaders

Traditional stereotypes that women leaders are more nurturing, build better relationships, are better listeners and all-around empathizers are true.  Often referred to as ‘woman’s strengths’ but not always considered ‘strong leadership skills’ are skills that women should be proud of, invest in and continue to practice with abundance.  Here is why.. A study done by the Harvard Business Review, women advantages were not at all confined to traditionally women’s strengths. (Yes, they scored higher in those).  In fact, at every level, more women were rated by their peers, their bosses, their direct reports, and their other associates as better overall leaders— and the higher the level, the wider that gap grows. Let’s hear for women strengths!

5. Living Longer

In general, women continue to live 5 – 10 years longer.  According to the New England Centenarian Study at Boston University, among people over 100 years old, 85% are women.  There are a few different reasons for this – see #1, #2, #3, and #4 -among others.

6. Stronger Tech Skills

A report from the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution measured men’s and women’s digital scores and found that women had stronger skills.  Conclusion, women have better digital skills but are still underrepresented in the industry.

7. Just For Fun

Because we can.. A  2017 study published in the British Medical Journal found that women make better surgeons. 4% fewer patients die following an operation performed by a woman.

The next time you feel like you aren’t enough or aren’t getting it right, ear mark this list and come back to it again, and again. And AGAIN.   We are strong, brilliant and bad a**. The only thing stopping us is believing it.
